Celebrating Youth-Driven Innovation Across Borders
Regional Virtual Collaborative Learning Tandems Conclude with Transformative Impact
We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the Regional Virtual Collaborative Learning (VCL) Tandems, a milestone in the COWEB Project – Virtual Collaborative Learning in Western Balkans HEIs, supported under the Erasmus+ CBHE programme.
This dynamic initiative brought together 131 students, 6 professors, and 9 e-tutors from 7 universities across Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, and Bosnia & Herzegovina, who collaborated in a unique, virtual learning experience designed to foster innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurial thinking.
Over several months, students participated in the Tandem Innovation Series, tackling real-world challenges through cross-border teamwork, digital learning, and interdisciplinary problem-solving.

Highlights from the Tandem Series
Tandem 1: Smart Tourism
Partner Institutions: European University of Tirana & Kolegji Biznesi
47 students explored innovative strategies to enhance tourism between Albania and Kosovo. Their work resulted in cross-border innovation reports and compelling value-driven business pitches.
Tandem 2: Urban Mobility & SDGs
Partner Institutions: International Burch University & University of Montenegro
25 students addressed sustainable transport challenges. The winning team, SwiftRoute, presented an AI-powered mobile application designed to reduce urban congestion by optimizing public transit routes.
Tandem 3: Recycling & Circular Economy
Partner Institutions: Epoka University, University of Business and Technology, University of East Sarajevo
59 students developed solutions for plastic waste management and the circular economy. The standout project, EcoTech, showcased a tech-based innovation using recycled materials, highlighting environmental and entrepreneurial value.
